Due to their continued and huge success, they now require an experienced Critical Facility Technician to work from the Frankfurt, Germany Data Centre.

THE ROLE

As a Critical Facilities Technician, you will be providing technical and facility support in a 24x7 data centre environment, including maintenance and oversight of electrical, HVAC, civil and building management systems. You will take ownership of the data centres critical power, cooling/environmental, security & support systems and facilities to meet or exceed uptime service levels. Proactively support the safety of the environment & occupants and ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work. Perform limited maintenance tasks to ensure smooth operation of the data centre heating and cooling systems and overall facility. Permit and monitor contract vendors. Monitor, resolve and update all assigned service tickets using our client’s ticketing system, including trouble tickets and customer installations of electrical and physical equipment. Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment and inspect buildings, grounds, and all equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning operation. Escort and periodically check vendors while performing maintenance to ensure that the rules and operating procedures are followed. Assist in arranging access and creating work authorisations and changes for internal works or for vendors. Proactively identify issues and take the needed steps to resolve. Assist with service delivery tasks when needed. Working hours and shifts are varied and nights, weekends and holidays may be required. The ability to obtain security clearance via government or other agency background check may be required for customer support. 24 hours shift availability.

You will be working from the Frankfurt, Germany datacentre.

THE PERSON

As a Critical Facilities Technician you will have experience in a data centres, critical operations environment or mission critical operations environments. An Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualification or formal training is required. Experience as a Common Electrician, Cooling Technician, Cooling Specialist, Air Handling Specialist or similar engineering or technician experience within data centres or mission critical environments. German speaking with conversational English skills required. Multi-tasking - they use several different systems to manage ticket queues and work tasks can change throughout the day. Attention to detail - ability to understand and follow a documented process and safety code. The role is very process driven. Organization & prioritization - following processes and managing your time with minimal supervision to get work done efficiently and on time. Dedication & desire to learn. Customer service mentality. Opportunities for overtime work will be available. Working hours and shifts are varied and nights, weekends and holidays may be required. The ability to obtain security clearance via government or other agency background check may be required for customer support. Fluent German speaking with conversational English is essential. Live in or around Frankfurt, Germany.
