As a leading global data centre developer, we are seeking a Senior Data Centre Electrical Engineer to join the expanding European Development & Construction team. This is a senior, high-impact role where you will act as the Electrical Subject Matter Expert (SME) across major hyperscale projects, delivering resilient and efficient electrical systems for mission-critical facilities.
As Senior Data Centre Electrical Engineer / Electrical Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will:
- Lead on electrical design, installation, testing, and commissioning across hyperscale data centre projects.
- Oversee systems such as high-voltage networks, UPS, switchgear, backup generators, and electrical monitoring solutions.
- Provide technical leadership as the Electrical SME, ensuring compliance with safety, reliability, and performance standards.
- Review electrical drawings, conduct factory witness testing, and manage commissioning phases.
- Advise on redundancy, energy efficiency, and scalable electrical infrastructure.
- Act as a trusted advisor to contractors, consultants, stakeholders, and tenants throughout the project lifecycle.
You will be based either in or around London (UK wide also considered), Paris or Frankfurt, with extensive travel to European Projects.
Extensive experience in electrical systems for critical facilities ideally within data centres or alternatively semiconductors or large-scale industrial plants.
Strong expertise in power systems engineering, including HV systems, UPS, switchgear, and backup generation.
Proven track record of delivering and commissioning electrical systems for complex infrastructure projects.
Solid understanding of European electrical codes and regulations.
Flexibility to travel extensively across Europe (50–70%).
Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
~7+ years’ experience in electrical engineering, ideally within data centres or mission-critical facilities.
~ Professional certifications such as CEng, PMP, or LEED AP.
A senior leadership role within a global data centre developer.
