Our Team

Our EIP department is a fun and dynamic group of people based in our Edinburgh and Glasgow offices with two team members who work remotely in the Aberdeen area. We are one of the largest and most experienced legal teams in Scotland but act for clients across the United Kingdom and beyond. We have five lawyers accredited as specialists in employment law with the Law Society of Scotland, one accredited in discrimination law and one Signet Accredited, as well as two certified mediators. • Leading the conduct of Employment Tribunal litigation, taking full responsibility for case strategy, pleadings, correspondence with the Tribunal, and client risk management.
  • Overseeing the preparation of high-quality evidential material, including taking instructions, drafting and reviewing witness statements, and ensuring consistency with litigation strategy.
  • Applying detailed legal analysis to complex and emerging issues, carrying out and directing legal research to support advice, litigation decisions and knowledge development within the team.
  • Representing clients in Employment Tribunal and Employment Appeal Tribunal proceedings, including advocacy at preliminary and substantive hearings, and advising on resolution and settlement strategy.
  • Advising on and producing bespoke employment documentation, including contracts, handbooks, policies and procedures, aligned with clients’ operational needs and risk profile.
  • Supporting other departments in relation to non-contentious matters such as TUPE warranties and indemnities on the sale or transfer of a business.
