Our client is seeking a technically minded and commercially driven Sales Engineer to manage and develop distributor relationships across Surrey and South London. This role would suit someone currently working within plumbing, electrical, hardware, technical building products, or a related sector, with experience selling through distribution channels.
Key Responsibilities of the Sales Engineer:
- Act as the primary technical and commercial contact for distributor partners across the region.
- Build strong, professional relationships with key distributor personnel and decision-makers.
- Support distributors with stock profiling, inventory management, and product range optimisation.
- Manage stock returns and stock cleansing activities in line with company procedures.
- Identify and develop opportunities with non-stocking distributors, working closely with internal sales teams to secure new stockists.
- Introduce and promote new product ranges into distributor networks.
- Deliver product training and technical support to distributor staff at basic to intermediate level.
- Coordinate contractor training sessions alongside distributors and technical engineers, particularly around new product launches and industry regulation updates.
- Attend relevant trade shows, industry exhibitions, and regional events.
- Generate and pass on project opportunities and contractor leads to Key Account Managers.
This is a field-based role, typically involving four days on the road and one day working from home for planning and administration. Reporting directly to the Regional Sales Manager.
Territory Coverage: CR, KT, SM, SW, SE, TW, GU
Package:
- Β£50,000βΒ£55,000 basic salary (depending on experience)
