Our client is seeking to recruit a motivated Development Executive to join their commercial insurance team. The ideal candidate will have proven experience within insurance sales, alongside experience in a similar advisory or sales role, with a strong ability to build client relationships, identify customer needs, and deliver tailored, needs-based solutions in a compliant and professional manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- To operate within the commercial fleet insurance division, responding to customer needs and requirements in a professional and timely manner.
- To work towards agreed sales and retention targets in line with company growth objectives.
- To ensure all business activities align with company standards, compliance requirements, and regulatory obligations.
- To maintain the legal and ethical integrity of the business by adhering to all relevant rules and regulations.
- To proactively identify and develop new business opportunities, including arranging face-to-face client meetings.
- To build, grow, and maintain a portfolio of clients in line with individual targets.
- To fully assess and understand client insurance needs through comprehensive reviews at new business stage and renewal.
- To effectively market both new and renewal business risks to appropriate insurers.
- To issue renewal terms within required timescales and through appropriate communication channels in accordance with regulatory standards.
- To identify and recommend risk management solutions to reduce client exposure.
- To build and maintain strong relationships with industry professionals relevant to client sectors.
Skills & Knowledge Required:
- Proven experience within insurance sales, alongside experience in a similar advisory or sales role providing specialist, needs-based advice and tailored solutions to customers.
- Strong IT skills including email, internet use, and data entry.
- Minimum GCSE (or equivalent) Grade C/4 in Maths and English.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills (both telephone and face-to-face).
- High attention to detail with the confidence to question and verify client information professionally.
- Ability to assess client needs and match suitable products accordingly.
- Working knowledge of quotation systems and telephony platforms.
- Ability to analyse insurer panels and determine appropriate policy suitability.
- Understanding of insurer schemes, delegated authorities, and rating structures.
- Knowledge of payment options available to clients.
- Ability to work independently and use own initiative.
