R egional Business Development Manager (North Region)
Salary basic £45-50,000 plus Uncapped OTE Circa £65k+ with option for company car or car allowance
Areas covered within Manchester, Liverpool, Carlisle, Newcastle upon Tyne, Leeds
An opportunity for a Business Development person from ideally from a technical / engineering product sales experience.
With a designated geographical region, the BDM will be required to build new and existing clients.
This role is best suited for candidates who understand and have experience within a slow sales process with high value capital equipment products.
Key Responsibilities
- A solution based sales approach to develop existing and new clients across UK.
- The sales process can be long, so must be able to forge long term relationships effectively.
- Consult new and existing customers on "best fit" products to meet their requirements along with maximising business needs.
- Relationship building to include promotion of all products and services, identify areas for potential growth, ensure client is aware of all solutions available to them.
- Self-generate new leads through building contacts and working with sales, marketing and operations team.
- Ensure the company CRM system, is maintained at all times to reflect current status of activities, opportunities, contacts, competitors equipment etc
- Diary Management to achieve weekly / monthly targets
- Carry out site meetings / surveys
- Re-contracting existing clients and increase spend and longevity of contractual terms
- Ability to negotiate ensuring the very best price is obtained at all times
- Regular and effective communication with the rest of the team to ensure SLA, KPI's and delivery dates are achieved
- Produce detailed quotations and reports for new and existing customers
- Identify competitor users within the field and keep a detailed log
- Complete all paper work and supporting documents needed to raise contracts

- Ability to develop new business within existing accounts and remain consistent throughout a what can be at times, a long sales process. Looking for a hunter approach
- Tenacious, self-motivating and a positive attitude
- Flexibility to travel as and where necessary - Overnight stays will more than likely be required
