Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the strategic development of SEND provision across the school
  • Coordinating support for students with EHCPs and those at SEN Support
  • Working closely with teachers, support staff, families, and external agencies to create personalised, high-impact interventions
  • Ensuring compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and statutory requirements
  • Building a culture of inclusive, high-quality teaching for all
  • Using data and evidence to evaluate impact and drive improvement

You will

  • Have successful experience of managing whole school change to bring about clear evidence of school improvement for all or groups of students
  • Lead with compassion, credibility and clarity, have experience of presenting initiatives at whole school level to both staff, parents, governors and the local community
  • Be a qualified teacher, ideally holding the National Award for SEN Coordination (or willing to work towards it)
  • Have a strong understanding of SEND legislation and practice
  • Have a commitment to equity, access, and advocacy for every learner, work well with colleagues, families, and outside agencies in a spirit of collaboration and ambition
  • Have experience (or are ready to step up) in managing and developing a team of support staff
