Anderson Knight is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established organisation for a Part-Qualified Management Accountant to join their finance team. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious finance professional who is currently studying towards ACCA or CIMA and is looking to develop their experience within a supportive and professional environment.

The Role

Working as part of the wider operational finance team, you will support with a range of accounting and management reporting duties, gaining valuable experience across the full finance function. The role would suit someone who is keen to continue developing their technical accounting knowledge while taking on increasing responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for preparation of monthly management accounts for each business unit, ensuring accurate and timely reporting in line with KPIs.
  • Preparation of monthly reporting packs including KPIs, supported by clear analysis against budget.
  • Monthly revenue and cost reconciliations, validating underlying movements, investigating variances and highlighting areas for attention.
  • Support internal and external audit requirements, providing documentation and explanations as required.
  • Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, strengthen controls and drive standardisation across the operational finance team.
  • Analysis and reconciliation of overhead expenditure, payroll costs and headcount movements, investigation variances with commentary.
  • Ownership of cost forecasting and support to the wider budgeting and forecasting processes through robust financial data.
  • Provide support to the wider finance team with ad-hoc reporting and analysis.

The Person

The ideal candidate will be a proactive individual who can work to tight financial deadlines whilst providing strong robust financial data to meet company goals. Experience within a multi-site financial business is preferred however not essential.

You will also have the following key attributes / skills:

  • Currently studying towards ACCA or CIMA.
  • Previous experience within a fast paced financial environment.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach.
  • Comfortable working with financial data and Excel.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Keen to learn, develop and progress within a finance career.
