This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded professional to take ownership of key spend areas and lead strategic sourcing initiatives that deliver long-term value across the business.
As Category Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of assigned categories, developing and implementing sourcing strategies that align with business objectives. You’ll play a key role in supplier management, contract negotiation, and cost optimisation, ensuring best-in-class performance across the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute category strategies for a range of goods and services.
- Lead sourcing projects, tender processes, and contract negotiations to drive value and efficiency.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring consistent performance and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and align category strategies accordingly.
- Analyse market trends, risks, and opportunities to inform strategic decisions.
- Promote innovation, sustainability, and cost efficiency across all procurement activities.
- Ensure full compliance with internal procurement policies and relevant regulations.
- Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- CIPS qualification (or working towards) is advantageous.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in category management, strategic sourcing, or procurement within a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
- Proven experience managing high-value contracts and supplier performance.
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
