An exciting opportunity to join a collaborative People team and play a key role in HR, payroll, and reward. We’re working with a well-established organisation seeking a confident and detail‑oriented HR & Payroll Assistant to join their team, based in either Edinburgh or Glasgow. This is a varied role supporting core HR operations, monthly payroll, and reward processes — ideal for someone with previous HR or payroll experience who’s looking to broaden their skills in a busy and supportive environment. You’ll act as a key point of contact for day‑to‑day HR and pay‑related queries, while also getting involved in projects around benefits and employee data.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage employee lifecycle administration including onboarding, contracts, changes, and leavers
- Collate, validate, and process monthly payroll data accurately
- Liaise with the external payroll provider to ensure timely and accurate pay runs
- Maintain HR and payroll systems, ensuring data integrity and compliance
- Support reward and benefits processes, including annual pay review, bonus administration, and benefit enrolments
- Respond to employee queries on pay, benefits, policies, and processes
- Assist with HR reporting, audit support, and project work as required
About You
- Previous experience in a similar HR, payroll, or HR operations role
- Strong understanding of payroll processes and basic employment law principles
- High attention to detail, particularly with data and numbers
- Strong IT skills – confident with Excel and HR/payroll systems
- Discreet and professional, with the ability to handle sensitive information
- A proactive, team‑oriented approach with excellent communication skills
