Anderson Knight are delighted to be representing our client on a unique opportunity for a Group Tax Manager. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax professional to join our clients dynamic team. This pivotal role will be responsible for overseeing and managing the Group’s tax compliance, implementing Taxation Strategy and addressing key risks across the Group Tax Register.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, capable of engaging with internal stakeholders and external partners, including HMRC and professional services firms, to drive tax excellence and ensure adherence to tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the preparation and review of corporation tax computations and returns across the Group, ensuring timely submission and payment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date tax records and documentation to support the Group’s SAO certification.
- Monitor US tax filing requirements and ensure compliance with international tax obligations.
- Collaborate closely with finance and operational teams to ensure tax processes are properly documented and compliant, serving as point of contact for the Group for any tax-related queries.
- Proactively identify and mitigate tax risks across the Group, enhancing overall tax governance.
- Lead the transition to a Group VAT registration, ensuring a smooth and compliant implementation process.
- Overseeing the preparation and submission of VAT returns, providing guidance on VAT treatment for complex transactions.
- Manage VAT, payroll taxes and CIS compliance across the Group, in partnership with divisional finance teams.
- Provide insightful tax input on business initiatives, contracts, and corporate transactions, supporting decision-making and planning including for acquisitions.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve tax policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with best practices and regulatory changes.
- Support internal audits and control reviews related to tax, ensuring ongoing compliance and best-in-class tax governance.
- Oversee the UK Corporation Tax compliance process, collaborating with third-party advisors to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Proven experience in a Tax Manager role.
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CTA qualification).
- Strong technical knowledge of UK tax law, with experience in VAT, corporation tax, SAO and international tax matters.
- Excellent Excel skills and a solid understanding of tax systems and software.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex tax matters clearly and effectively.
- Experience managing remote stakeholders and driving the implementation of tax processes, procedures, and change management initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage workloads in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
