Anderson Knight are delighted to be exclusively representing our client on the critical appointment of a Financial Controller.
Based out of the Glasgow office, (fully officed based), we are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to lead the finance team, with a strong focus on complex financial reporting, internal controls and statutory compliance. This role provides strategic influence across the business, with extensive commercial exposure across key operations and a focus on driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the finance team, ensuring robust performance and succession planning.
- Oversee the preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements across group entities.
- Maintain strong internal controls, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Deliver insightful financial analysis to support decision-making, cost efficiency, and business performance.
- Manage financial systems and reporting integrity, including general ledger and ERP platforms.
- Drive improvements in reporting, processes, and scalability, while supporting strategic initiatives and budgeting/forecasting.
Qualifications & Skills
- Qualified accountant (CA, ACCA, CIMA) with post-qualification experience in complex accounting environments.
- Strong expertise in financial reporting, statutory compliance, and internal controls.
- Strategic thinker with commercial awareness and the ability to influence senior leadership.
- Advanced Excel and financial systems skills
- Experience in people management and development
