Are you a hands-on Building Manager with a passion for delivering exceptional service and operational excellence? We\'re hiring for a key role managing one of Glasgow’s most iconic and forward-thinking buildings, right in the heart of the city. This is a front-of-house, customer-facing role that requires strong technical knowledge, exceptional communication skills, and a proactive approach to building operations and compliance. You’ll be a driving force behind the building’s safety, innovation, and community feel, creating an inspiring and modern workplace experience for tenants, and visitors alike. About the Role As Building Facilities Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing the statutory compliance and day-to-day operations of all technical, mechanical, electrical, and building services. You’ll oversee front-of-house functions, support ESG initiatives, lead on health and safety compliance, and maintain all amenities—from office suites and wellbeing zones to the bike repair centre and tenant lounge. You’ll report directly to the managing agent and be trusted to manage the building’s operating budget, work alongside M&E teams and external contractors, and take a lead in shaping a best-in-class working environment. Key Responsibilities • Front-of-house leadership with a customer-first mindset • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, including fire safety and security protocols • Collaborate with M&E teams and contractors to ensure all statutory and legal standards are met • Oversee facilities including office space, tenant lounges, wellness areas, gym, and bike storage • Maintain building fabric to high standards through planned preventative maintenance • Manage and review external contracts and ensure deadlines and service levels are achieved • Act as the liaison with statutory bodies and managing agents during reactive incidents • Lead on green initiatives to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact • Deliver clear weekly maintenance and operational reports • Build and maintain strong relationships with tenants, stakeholders, and local authorities The ideal candidate will be a forward thinking individual who possesses excellent customer service, you will also possess the following key skills: • Strong background in customer service in a client-facing role • Knowledge of building systems and statutory compliance • Contract and budget management experience • Confident team leadership and people management skills • Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving abilities • Professional, self-driven, and solutions-focused mindset A facilities management related qualification such as IWFM is desired but not essential as is possessing a relevant Health & safety qualification such as IOSH/NEBOSH.
