Anderson Knight is delighted to be supporting a client in Edinburgh with the appointment of an HR Advisor for a 6 month FTC. This is a broad, hands-on generalist role offering exposure across employee relations, absence management, recruitment, and people reporting.

Working closely with the HR team, leadership team and employees, you will play a key role in supporting the recruitment, retention and performance of staff while ensuring HR best practice and compliance with employment legislation.

The Role

As HR Advisor, you will act as a trusted first point of contact for managers and employees, providing pragmatic advice across a wide range of HR matters. You will support the full employee lifecycle, from talent acquisition through to performance management and employee relations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as first point of contact for managers and employees on HR queries
  • Manage staff relationships, setting clear expectations in line with company policies
  • Provide first-line support on employee relations matters including investigations, disciplinary, grievance and sickness absence
  • Support work reviews, organisational change processes and performance management activities
  • Assist with talent management and performance review processes
  • Monitor, review and update HR policies in line with current employment legislation
  • Support the business in achieving people and organisational objectives
  • Manage day-to-day recruitment activity across UK sites
  • Support and develop recruitment campaigns
  • Coordinate appointment processes for successful candidates
  • Manage onboarding and induction activities
  • Use HR systems to input, access and analyse people data
  • Produce monthly forecasting, headcount and people KPI reports

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience working within an HR department
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation
  • CIPD qualification or actively working towards it (desirable)
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to build positive working relationships at all levels
  • A collaborative, team-focused approach
