Anderson Knight is currently recruiting an Assistant Buyer to one of our clients based in Glasgow. The Assistant Buyer supports the Buying Team in managing product selection, inventory, and supplier relationships to meet the company’s goals for quality, profitability, and customer satisfaction. This role involves close collaboration with internal teams (e.g., Merchandising, Sales, Marketing) and external vendors to ensure timely product delivery, competitive pricing, and accurate forecasting. Key Responsibilities: * Assist the Senior Buyer in selecting products that align with company goals, trends, and customer needs. * Manage product data entry, including product codes, descriptions, and specifications. * Track and update inventory levels, making recommendations for reorders based on sales data and trends. * Communicate regularly with vendors to track order status, delivery schedules, and resolve any supply chain issues. * Support the Senior Buyer in negotiating prices, terms, and delivery timelines to optimise cost savings and ensure on-time fulfillment. * Prepare and follow up on purchase orders and requisitions. * Conduct regular competitor analysis and market research to identify product opportunities and trends. * Analyse sales data to assist with planning future buying cycles and forecasting. * Create and maintain reports on product performance, providing insights and recommendations for product improvements or replacements. * Maintain organised files of vendor agreements, contracts, and invoices. * Coordinate sample deliveries and manage sample requests for product presentations. * Provide general support to the Buying Team in daily administrative tasks and special projects. Qualifications: * Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Fashion, or a related field. * Experience: 1-2 years in a similar role.
