As the Group Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, managing the audit process, ensuring compliance with UK accounting standards and providing insightful financial analysis to guide senior management in key decision-making. Key Responsibilities- Prepare accurate and timely group financial statements in compliance with UK GAAP and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Manage the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring all required documentation is prepared and available.
- Compile financial reports, budgets and forecasts to support effective decision-making across the organisation.
- Analyse financial performance, identify trends and provide valuable insights to senior management for strategic planning.
- Oversee intercompany accounting and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and consistency across the group’s financial records.
- Develop and implement robust financial controls and processes to improve efficiency and ensure the reliability of financial reporting.
- Provide guidance and support to subsidiary companies on accounting-related queries, policies and best practices.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting systems and practices to enhance the effectiveness of the finance function.
You will have a strong understanding of financial accounting principles, particularly UK GAAP and a proven track record in financial reporting, audit management, and financial analysis. In addition, you will be highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Essential Skills & Experience- Fully qualified accountant (CA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Solid understanding of UK GAAP and financial accounting practices.
- Proven experience in financial reporting, audit management, and financial analysis.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both financial and non-financial teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
