Anderson Green Ltd is a leading privately owned Building Services Consultancy and we currently have an exciting opportunity for the right candidate, to join us as a Graduate Sustainability Consultant. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to progress their education whilst delivering environmental assessments, energy and thermal performance assessments and sustainability consulting within the built environment.

You will work collaboratively in a multi-discipline team consisting of Buildings Services Designers, Revit Technicians, Building Physicist, BREEAM Assessors and Document Controllers. You will be involved with a wide range of projects across numerous market sectors, delivering a variety of sustainability services and providing technical sustainability advice to clients and colleagues. Based within our Nottingham office.

Main Responsibilities (mentoring and training will be provided):

  • Champion net zero and whole life carbon approaches across project portfolios
  • Develop early design integrated sustainability and energy strategies
  • Deliver DREAM and BREEAM Assessments and produce BREEAM Indoor Air Quality Plans and Building User Guides
  • Prepare clear, actionable energy and sustainability reports with tailored recommendations
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to embed energy-efficient design during the concept stage of projects
  • Contribute to client and design team workshops, clearly communicating sustainability information and strategies
  • Assist with the delivery of:
    • Energy Assessments
    • Embodied carbon calculations
    • Circular economy opportunities
    • On-site energy generation evaluations
    • Overheating and thermal comfort risk assessments
    • Capacity assessments of new and existing infrastructure including concept maximum demand calculations
  • Contribute to internal research and innovation to support continued leadership in the field
  • Keep abreast of the latest industry regulations, trends, and best practices in building performance and sustainability

Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience with building physics, thermal comfort modelling, and low-energy design approaches
  • Strong analytical, project management, and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Collaborative mindset with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach
  • Additional qualifications such as BREEAM Assessor, CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant, or similar are highly desirable

Experience & Qualifications:

  • HNC/D or Degree in Building Services Engineering, Sustainability, Environmental Science, or other related discipline
  • Understanding of BREEAM, One Click, IES software
  • Understanding of UK Building Regulations, especially Part L and other energy-related standards
