We're seeking a Data Analyst to join our small data function at Kin Group part of Anderson Global as we continue our adoption of modern data tools across the business.
Following our own acquisition by Anderson Global and merger with another of their recent acquisitions, we've been focusing on systems integration and the migration from legacy systems and manual processes to a modern data toolset.
We're implementing the pipeline, warehouse and BI tools to introduce higher levels of automation, quality control, governance, and self-service reporting across the business.
We're looking to expand the team to help maintain the pace of those developments.
This is an opportunity to work across the implementation of an entire analytics stack, working closely with teams across the business: with the Engineering team developing our in-house platform, automating regulatory submissions for Compliance, and improving the efficiency of our Operations teams by providing BI tools to automate, and provide insight into, their processes.
This would be a great role for someone ready to step up from a junior position, or for someone from a larger, siloed team looking to broaden their experience across end-to-end data pipeline tools.
The Role & Responsibilities
- Handling data requests: Respond to inbound request tickets from team members to help answer questions and maintain data integrity.
- Dbt contributions: Make contributions to the models, tests and documentation within the developing dbt project which manages our data pipeline.
- Business Intelligence development: Develop tools and dashboards for teams and managers within our BI platform (Hex) to provide impactful insight and automated reporting.
- Regulatory reporting: Support in the generation and automation of required reports for regulatory bodies.
- Operating the data stack tools: Support the implementation administration of the data team tools: user management, governance, optimisation, adoption of best practices and new features.
- Ad-hoc investigations and projects: Undertake investigations or projects such as client data migrations, data quality initiatives, or management reporting.
- Migration from legacy tools and spreadsheets: Support the migration from our legacy systems, and the integration with other group systems as required.
- Data governance and security: Support in developing and maintaining high levels of quality control, data governance and business confidence in our data.
- Other Expectations
- Cultivate and maintain a client/customer centric culture through the way you work and the service you provide
- Embrace change and continuously improve the work we do and the way we do it
- Assume ownership of the tasks and responsibilities you are assigned
- Work closely with and support your colleagues to collectively achieve success
- Capacity to adjust to changing requirements and priorities
The Right Person
- Solid experience with SQL, Excel.
- Experience with tools and tech used in our stack: dbt (Cloud), Big Query, Hex, Fivetran, Postgres, git. (or equivalent)
- Experience delivering impactful dashboards and data-tools.
- Able to work autonomously, with good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong attention to detail & curiosity.
They’ll instinctively build strong understandings of systems and problems, following leads and pulling on threads in investigations to appreciate the underlying issues and data.
- Team-player with a friendly, supportive, positive, can-do attitude
Nice-to-haves
- Experience of productive use of AI agents: leveraging them to improve your reach and productivity, without diminishing your understanding.
- Experience working in a regulated industry.
