ABOUT US
Anderson & Garland has been serving Newcastle and the North East since 1840, and today ranks among the largest independent auction houses in the UK. With over 20 specialist departments and up to 60 auctions a year, we sell to buyers in more than 100 countries, from fine art and jewellery to silver, watches and country house collections. We're looking for a creative, organised Marketing Co-ordinator to help us bring our sales, specialists and stories to life across social media and digital channels.
THE ROLE
This is a hands‑on, content‑first role within our marketing team. You'll spend the majority of your time creating and publishing engaging content across our social channels, growing our presence on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube, and building the latter two from the ground up. You'll also build our paid digital advertising on Meta and report regularly on performance, working closely with the Marketing Manager to plan, create and deliver a joined‑up content calendar.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, create and publish engaging, platform‑native content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube.
- Build our TikTok and YouTube accounts from scratch, growing an engaged audience on each.
- Adapt and repurpose content across platforms, tailoring tone, format and edit style to suit each channel and audience.
- Build, launch and optimise paid advertising campaigns on Meta (Facebook/Instagram), though the primary focus of the role is organic social content.
- Produce weekly and monthly performance reports for the Marketing Manager, covering paid and organic activity, and using insights to inform future content.
- Work closely with the Marketing Manager to plan and maintain a cross‑channel content calendar, aligned with our auction schedule and key sale dates.
- Capture authentic, compelling stories from across the business – consignment, sale days, specialist expertise, viewing days, external valuation events and exhibitions.
- Shoot and edit photo and video content on‑site, in line with Anderson & Garland's brand voice and photography standards.
- Monitor social media channels and engage with our online community in a timely, on‑brand manner.
- Keep up with social media trends and platform changes, bringing fresh ideas to the team.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Proven experience creating content for social media, ideally across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube.
- Hands‑on experience running paid campaigns in Meta Ads Manager, with the ability to report clearly on performance.
- Strong photography, videography and editing skills, with a good eye for what performs well on each platform.
- Confident written communication, able to adapt tone across professional, promotional and informal formats.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage a content calendar and multiple sales in parallel.
- A proactive, self‑starting attitude, comfortable working closely with a Marketing Manager and wider team.
- An interest in art, antiques, auctions or heritage is a strong advantage, though not essential.
WHY JOIN US
- Be part of a brand with over 180 years of history and a leading reputation across the North East.
- A varied, creative role covering everything from fine jewellery to modern art, silver to miners lamps.
- A collaborative, friendly team environment.
- Genuine scope to shape and grow our social media presence from an early stage.
- The proposed salary is £28-33k per annum depending on experience.
