We are working with a well-regarded secondary school in Winchester to recruit a Pastoral Support Worker to join their dedicated wellbeing team. This role focuses on supporting students with their emotional health, behaviour and overall wellbeing.

The Pastoral Support Worker role includes:

  • Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Delivering interventions focused on wellbeing, confidence and behaviour
  • Working closely with the safeguarding and pastoral teams
  • Liaising with parents, staff and external agencies
  • Supporting students in reset/seclusion and following pastoral plans
  • Delivering group sessions on topics such as resilience, anxiety and wellbeing
  • Promoting positive mental health and healthy lifestyles
  • Supporting student-led groups and initiatives

What we are looking for:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Empathy, resilience and a genuine interest in supporting young people
  • Ability to build trust and positive relationships with students
  • Good organisational and IT skills
  • Experience working with young people or in a support role (desirable, not essential)
  • A proactive and team-focused approach

Working hours:

Monday-Friday: 8:15am - 3:15pm, 32.5 hours per week, term-time only
