We are supporting a highly regarded independent school in Surrey to recruit a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to work closely with a named pupil in Key Stage 2. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference to a child's educational experience, providing tailored support that helps them thrive academically, socially and emotionally. The role is ideal for someone with experience supporting children with additional needs, particularly autism and/or ADHD.
The Role
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a named pupil
- Support learning, organisation, attention and task completion
- Help develop confidence, independence and positive learning habits
- Assist with emotional regulation and transitions throughout the day
- Encourage positive social interaction and communication skills
- Maintain accurate records and observations
- Liaise effectively with teachers, parents and external professionals
- Support the pupil during lunchtime and other supervised activities
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment

- Experience supporting children on a 1:1 basis
- Understanding of autism, ADHD and associated learning needs
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to remain calm, patient and encouraging
- Good observation and record-keeping skills

- Experience within a primary school setting
- Knowledge of sensory processing needs
