We are working with a well-regarded secondary school in Winchester to recruit a Pastoral Support Worker to join their dedicated wellbeing team. This role focuses on supporting students with their emotional health, behaviour and overall wellbeing. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about student support to make a real impact in a structured, supportive school environment.
The Pastoral Support Worker role includes:
- Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Delivering interventions focused on wellbeing, confidence and behaviour
- Working closely with the safeguarding and pastoral teams
- Liaising with parents, staff and external agencies
- Supporting students in reset/seclusion and following pastoral plans
- Delivering group sessions on topics such as resilience, anxiety and wellbeing
- Promoting positive mental health and healthy lifestyles
- Supporting student-led groups and initiatives
What we are looking for:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Empathy, resilience, and a genuine interest in supporting young people
- Ability to build trust and positive relationships with students
- Good organisational and IT skills
- Experience working with young people or in a support role (desirable, not essential)
- A proactive and team-focused approach
Working hours: Monday – Friday: 8:15 am – 3:15 pm, 32.5 hours per week, term-time only
