We're working with a forward-thinking engineering company based in Westminster to find a strategic HR Business Partner for an initial 3–6 month contract, with strong likelihood of extension.
This is a genuinely interesting role. The business is mid-way through an HR transformation project and needs an experienced HRBP who can hit the ground running through a super busy period; someone who's comfortable being a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders while also rolling their sleeves up when needed.
What you’ll be doing:- Day-to-day advising on everything from employee relations and performance management to organisational design and change management.
- Act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on all HR-related matters, including performance management, employee relations, talent development, and organisational design.
- Lead and manage the implementation of HR programmes and initiatives across the business units.
- Provide expertise in areas such as employee engagement, compensation and benefits, and compliance with employment laws and regulations.
- Analyse HR data and trends to inform decision-making and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Champion a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion, ensuring that all HR practices are aligned with these values.
- Facilitate change management processes and support business transformation initiatives.
- Manage employee relations issues with a fair and balanced approach, ensuring timely resolution.
- Solid, proven HRBP experience in a corporate environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law — you won’t need Google to answer the basics.
- Experience working within an HR team, not a stand-alone function.
- A practical, solutions-focused mindset — you’ll be advising, not just processing.
The detail: Westminster/Victoria — hybrid, 1 day in the office per week, 36 hours per week (flexible working available). Duration: 3–6 months, with strong likelihood of extension; £50,000 – £55,000 plus excellent benefits.
The team is collaborative and supportive — this isn’t a sink-or-swim environment. You’ll have the autonomy to get on with it but plenty of backup around you.
