  • Commercial and Finance Support Manager
  • Buntingford, Hertfordshire (office based, full time)

Right to work in the UK is essential. Sponsorship is not available.

Our client designs, supplies, builds and manages data centres for operators across Europe and beyond.

It's a growing market and they're growing with it, which is exactly why this role exists.

We're looking for a Commercial and Finance Support Manager to sit right at the heart of the business.

Not tucked away in a back office producing reports nobody reads, but working alongside the operational, project and commercial teams, telling them what the numbers actually mean and helping them make better decisions.

  • What you’ll be doing
  • Providing the commercial insight and financial analysis that shapes business planning and protects profitability
  • Partnering with project and operations teams to track KPIs, spot risks early and improve outcomes
  • Supporting budgets, forecasts, cash flow, month end, year end and audit
  • Overseeing financial controls, governance, credit control and debtor management across the group entities
  • Getting more out of Microsoft Business Central, both in how it's used and what can be reported from it
  • Leading the process improvements that make finance quicker, cleaner and more consistent as the business scales
  • Supporting the Accounts Receivable Manager on the trickier billing and collection issues
  • Formal line management experience isn't essential, but a willingness to guide and develop someone is.

Requirements

What we’re looking for

Qualified or part qualified accountant, ACCA or CIMA, with solid commercial finance or business partnering experience behind you.

Ideally you've worked in construction, engineering, infrastructure, data centres or another project driven environment, so contract accounting and project margins aren't new territory.

Experience with Microsoft Business Central or Navision would be a real advantage, particularly if you've been part of an implementation or a system improvement project.

Strong Excel goes without saying.

Beyond the technical side, you need to be someone who can explain financial information to people who don't live in spreadsheets, and hold your own in a room with operations.

Honest bit

This is a business growing quickly and internationally, which is exciting but it does mean things aren't always neatly defined.

Processes are still being built.

Priorities shift.

If you need everything mapped out before you'll move, this won't suit you.

If you're happy to use your initiative, work out what needs doing and get on with it, you'll thrive here.

The role will grow as the business does. What it looks like in two years is genuinely up to the person who takes it on.

The practical stuff

Based in Buntingford, full time, five days a week. Modern offices, plenty of free parking and minutes from A10.

Their values are Dedication, Precision and Integrity, and they mean them.

They look for people who think in terms of "we" rather than "me", who are relentless about solving problems, and who bring energy to the team around them.

Benefits

Full benefits package.
