We are seeking a proactive and commercially minded Centre Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day management of Westgate Shopping Centre, alongside a wider portfolio of assets within Stevenage. This is a high-impact role with responsibility not only for the operational performance of the shopping centre, but also for additional town-based assets, including a residential development and high street retail holdings. The successful candidate will play a key role in protecting and enhancing asset value, improving occupier and customer experience, and supporting the long-term strategy for the town portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of Westgate Shopping Centre, ensuring a safe, clean, and well-managed environment.
- Manage on-site service partners including security, cleaning and ad hoc contractors.
- Be an ambassador for the site; building relationships with the local BID, council, occupiers, service partners, and businesses throughout the town centre.
- Oversee operational management of associated residential and high street retail assets in Stevenage.
- Support leasing, refurbishments, inspections, and asset enhancement initiatives.
Commercial & Strategic Input:
- Identify opportunities to improve footfall, performance, and placemaking across the centre and wider estate.
- Work closely with asset management to support income protection, cost control, and value growth.
- Prepare reports for ownership, providing insight into performance, risks, and opportunities.
About You:
- Proven experience as a Centre Manager, Retail/Store Manager, or Operations Manager within retail or mixed-use environments.
- Strong operational knowledge of shopping centres, retail and/or town centre assets.
- Confident managing budgets and contractors.
