Andersen James are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of a major utility-scale solar park in the South East. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in the UK’s renewable energy transition, delivering a project that will power thousands of homes with clean, green energy. This is a consulting assignment expected to last around 18 months. This role has been deemed OUTSIDE IR35 - allowing you to work through a LTD company should you wish to do so.

Your Role:

As Project Manager, you’ll oversee the end-to-end delivery of the solar park, from pre-construction planning through to commissioning and handover. You’ll manage timelines, budgets, contractors, and all project stakeholders to ensure smooth, compliant, and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead project planning, execution, and reporting activities
  • Manage contractors, EPCs, and internal teams onsite and remotely
  • Oversee HSE, quality, and compliance with DNO and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor construction progress, manage risk, and resolve onsite issues
  • Ensure project milestones are met within time and budget
  • Maintain regular communication with senior management and stakeholders

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience delivering large-scale solar PV or renewable infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of UK construction, HSE, and grid connection processes
  • Excellent stakeholder and contractor management skills
  • Ability to work onsite 2 days per week in South East England and travel as needed
  • Relevant qualifications in engineering, project management, or construction

Preferred:

  • Experience working on DNO or National Grid-connected sites
  • Familiarity with battery energy storage systems (BESS) is a bonus
  • PM accreditation (e.g. PRINCE2, APM, PMP)
