Health & Safety Compliance Officer in London

Health & Safety Compliance Officer in London

London Full-Time No working from home possible
A

We’re looking for someone who can combine compliance knowledge with strong people skills in a busy shopping centre environment.

You’ll be visible across the site, working with tenants, contractors and the wider management team to make sure standards are maintained, issues are resolved and compliance is practical, not just paperwork.

What you’ll be doing

  • Health & safety, fire, asbestos and statutory compliance
  • Audits, inspections and action tracking
  • Contractor control, permits and pre-start meetings
  • Tenant compliance and fit-out support
  • Managing records, certificates and compliance documentation
  • Supporting incidents, events and wider operational activity
  • Building strong relationships with occupiers and contractors

What we’re looking for

You could come from Health & Safety, compliance, FM, shopping centre operations or technical services. What matters most is that you have:

  • IOSH as a minimum
  • Previous H&S/compliance responsibility
  • Experience in a property, FM or similar operational environment
  • Confidence working with tenants and contractors
  • A practical, solution-focused approach
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to challenge constructively

NEBOSH is advantageous, but not essential.

Shopping centre experience would be ideal, but we’re equally interested in people from comparable customer-facing property environments.

Why this role?

There’s genuine scope to grow beyond compliance.

The successful person will be developed into a broader operational role over time, with exposure to centre management, projects, fit-outs and potential future development activity.

If you’re commercially minded, good with people and want a role where you can genuinely influence how a destination operates, this could be a very strong next step.
