Lead the Operations Behind a Major Retail & Leisure Destination
We're working with a major retail and leisure destination in the West Midlands to appoint an experienced Head of FM to lead its operational teams and ensure exceptional standards across a large, complex and high-footfall environment.
This is an opportunity for a strong operational leader who understands the demands of running a busy destination, can confidently oversee multiple service disciplines and, importantly, knows how to get the best out of people.
About the Role
You'll take responsibility for operations across cleaning, security, technical services and health & safety, leading established managers and a substantial wider workforce.
From staffing, contractor performance and budgets to compliance, service standards and operational efficiency, you'll ensure the fundamentals are delivered exceptionally well while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has proven experience managing large operational teams, particularly across cleaning, security and soft services.
- Understands workforce planning, contractor management, operational budgets and compliance.
- Can inspire, develop and empower established managers and service partners.
- Builds strong relationships with occupiers, stakeholders and colleagues.
- Brings a collaborative leadership style, building trust and gaining buy-in before implementing change.
- Has experience in shopping centres, FM, airports, leisure, stadiums, major venues or other complex, customer-facing environments.
A technical engineering background isn't essential. Strong operational oversight, people leadership and soft-services experience are the priorities.
