A rare opportunity to lead one of Birmingham’s most distinctive and high-profile estates! A client-side opportunity has arisen for a senior Estate Manager to take strategic leadership of a landmark mixed-use destination in Birmingham — located within one of the UK’s most dynamic and rapidly evolving creative districts. This is not a conventional asset. It is a complex, high-footfall estate with a strong identity, diverse occupier mix, and a reputation as a destination in its own right. It requires a commercially astute leader who can balance operational excellence with long-term placemaking, stakeholder alignment and asset performance.

The Opportunity

You will hold full strategic and operational accountability for the estate, acting as the key interface between ownership, occupiers and delivery partners. This is a role that goes beyond management — it is about shaping the ongoing evolution, commercial performance and positioning of a destination. You will lead and inspire a multidisciplinary on-site team, while driving best-in-class service delivery across all operational functions. At the same time, you will work closely with the client to influence strategy, enhance value and ensure the estate continues to outperform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic leadership of a large-scale, mixed-use estate with a strong destination focus
  • Full accountability for operational performance, commercial outcomes and occupier experience
  • Leading and developing an on-site team, including an Operations Manager and service partner ecosystem
  • Building and maintaining senior stakeholder relationships across client, occupiers and the wider community
  • Driving asset performance through proactive commercial thinking and continuous improvement
  • Oversight of service charge, budgeting and financial performance aligned to business objectives
  • Contributing to the longer-term vision, positioning and evolution of the estate

The Individual

You will be an established Estate or Centre Manager with experience leading complex, high-profile assets — likely within retail-led or mixed-use environments. Crucially, you will bring:

  • A strong commercial mindset with the ability to influence asset performance
  • Credibility operating at senior stakeholder level
  • A leadership style that inspires teams and elevates standards
  • Confidence navigating environments that are dynamic, fast-paced and occasionally challenging

Why This Role?

  • Strategic ownership of a landmark, culturally significant estate
  • The opportunity to shape and evolve a destination, not just manage it
  • A platform to work closely with a highly engaged client on a high-profile asset
  • A genuinely senior role with visibility, influence and impact

Salary: Up to £100,000 + package
