Morson Edge is recruiting a Junior / Trainee Solar Installer to join a leading UK provider of commercial and industrial rooftop solar installations. This role is suited to candidates based in the Lancashire area who already have some hands-on solar experience and are looking to develop a long-term career in the renewable energy sector.
You will work on projects across Lancashire, supporting experienced installation teams and building your skills through on-site training and mentoring.
The Role
Working alongside qualified solar installers, you will assist with the installation of rooftop solar systems on commercial and industrial sites. This role is ideal for someone who has previously worked on solar farms or with solar installation teams and wants to progress into a fully skilled installer role.
Key Responsibilities
- Support solar installation works under supervision
- Assist with roof preparation, materials handling and panel installation
- Support DC cable installation and basic electrical works
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment
- Use tools, equipment and materials in line with health & safety standards
- Follow site protocols, method statements and instructions
- Continue developing skills through training and on-site mentoring
Candidate Requirements
- Previous solar experience is essential (solar farm work, rooftop installs, or working with installers)
- Comfortable working at height and on construction sites
- Reliable, motivated and keen to progress within solar installation
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and site practices
- Full UK driving licence with access to own vehicle
- Able to travel to sites across Lancashire
