My client is seeking an exceptional Shift Lead Maintenance Engineer to join there team in the Westminster area. This is a minimum of one month and is paying £30.99 per hour Umbrella (no CIS) or £23.81 per hour PAYE. As the Lead Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and regulatory compliance of complex building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems critical to life sciences operations. Duties Line Management responsibility for the Shift engineer within the assigned shift Team To provide technical and operational support and advice to the engineering team Resolving escalations from the Helpdesk and the client within reasonable time ensuring solutions are implemented quickly and effectively Ensuring planned maintenance services are scheduled and completed on time Ensuring that compliance documents contract and HTM logbooks are fully up to date and audit ready Managing client/end user escalations and queries Encouraging the reporting of hazards on site via the engineering team and sub-contractor supply chain Ensuring that PPE, Uniform, Tools and Hazards are logged, monitored and managed The role combines hands-on technical engineering expertise with strategic facility management, requiring proactive problem-solving and collaboration. Key responsibilities include managing preventive maintenance programmes to achieve 99.9%+ uptime, providing 24/7 emergency technical support, and leading system handovers during client onboarding. Previous experience in the FM & Maintenance sector is essential. Experience of working within an NHS or Healthcare environment would be advantageous.
