I'm working with a leading Tier 1 main contractor on a permanent Project Quantity Surveyor opportunity in Scarborough. The business has a strong pipeline of complex construction projects across Yorkshire, with a particular focus on healthcare and public-sector schemes. This is a position offering genuine commercial ownership, alongside the opportunity to develop your career within a business that has a strong track record of investing in and progressing its people. The role You'll be responsible for: - Managing the commercial performance of live construction projects - Subcontract procurement and tendering - Cost control, forecasting and CVR reporting - Valuations, applications for payment and final accounts - Managing variations, change and commercial risk - Subcontract and main contract administration - Working closely with the project delivery team to maximise commercial performance What we are looking for - Experience as a Quantity Surveyor / Project Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor - Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial management - Experience managing procurement, subcontractors, valuations and final accounts - Ideally, experience across healthcare, hospitals or other complex public-sector projects - Education, BTR/residential, prisons or similar building-sector experience will also be considered - Strong commercial and contractual knowledge - No infrastructure/civils background - Housebuilding-only experience will not be suitable - Full UK driving licence What's on offer - £55,000 basic salary - £4,700 car allowance - Permanent position - No direct management responsibility - Exposure to significant Yorkshire projects - Structured development and genuine long-term career progression - A business recognised for developing and progressing its people internally - Opportunity to grow into more senior commercial positions as your career develops - Strong Tier 1 environment with established commercial processes - Immediate interview availability If youre a Quantity Surveyor looking for your next move and want to join a business where development and progression are genuinely part of the culture, Id be happy to have a confidential conversation and give you the full brief.
