Morson Edge are recruiting on behalf of a main contractor delivering infrastructure projects across the Yorkshire Water framework. Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they are seeking an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to support commercial delivery across a range of water and wastewater schemes. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly reputable contractor with a strong presence in the utilities sector, offering long-term, stable freelance work on essential infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all commercial aspects of assigned projects from inception through to final account
- Prepare and review cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts
- Administer subcontractor packages, including procurement, payments, and variations
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
- Ensure compliance with contract terms (NEC forms of contract preferred)
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and client representatives
- Produce accurate and timely commercial reports
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or utilities
- Strong knowledge of NEC contracts (NEC3/NEC4)
- Experience working on water or infrastructure frameworks (desirable)
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
