Quantity Surveyor (Rail)

A prominent provider of construction and infrastructure solutions is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to manage the financial and contractual elements of diverse rail infrastructure projects across the Northwest region. Whether its significant upgrades or the construction of brand-new stations, you ll be instrumental in ensuring successful project delivery from inception to completion.
Summary of your role:
• Take charge of the commercial aspects of projects, ensuring contracts deliver maximum value while fostering positive and equitable relationships with subcontractors.
• Review of subcontractor applications for payment with the issue of any appropriate payment, pay less notices and certificates
• Preparation of monthly cost reports including forecasting
• Review and action of any contractual correspondence
• Submission of final accounts
• Understanding of standard forms of construction contracts
• Negotiating agreements and resolving disputes to maintain efficiency and profitability.
• Oversee and manage project variations by assessing their financial implications, preparing detailed reports, and delivering clear, insightful updates to clients during progress meetings.
• Ensures all parties remain informed and aligned throughout the project lifecycle.
What we require from you?
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying
• 3 years experience undertaking a similar role preferably for a main contractor.
• Conversant in software packages such as Microsoft excel, word and outlook
• Proven track record in managing risks and opportunities across transport, rail, civil or traditional build
• Driving Licence
The client has been established for over 80 years with a n established portfolio of works. The role comes with the opportunity to work remotely with intermittent visits to the office in Manchester.
