Electrician required to join a distribution network operator in the North East.
The Project Electrician's role is to carry out all aspects of electrical installation work in accordance with the CDM regulations, scope, design, method statements, risk assessments and safe working practices. Electrical construction works must be carried out in a safe, timely and cost efficient manner, maintaining a high level of quality to pass inspection, testing and commissioning into service. Available to travel to various projects in the North of England, preferably based in the Manchester area.

- Method Statement and risk assessment understanding
- Strong team player with good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work to a high standard within agreed timescales
- Ability to work at height or within confined spaces
- Previous power construction projects in Industrial, transportation or Nuclear work environment settings
- Proven CDM Health, Safety and Environmental experience and knowledge
- Energetic and hardworking individual with an ability to work both in a team or by themselves
- Willing to work across the UK if required for short periods plus out of hours/weekend availability to meet project demands
- Good organisational and communication skills
- Experience in using MS applications, i.e. Word and Excel
- Full clean driving licence
Essential Qualifications:
- Hold an Electricians ECS Gold Card
- Served a JIB recognised UK Level 3 Apprenticeship or time served equivalent
- JIB approved UK competency based qualification (NVQ), or equivalent
- Hold a current ECS Health, Safety and Environmental Assessment
- Hold a recognised 18th Edition Wiring regs
- Ability to certify under NAPIT - Electrotechnical Assessment Specification (EAS) and/or CPS
Preferable:
- Hold Level 3 2391 qualification (Testing and Inspection)
- Hold C&G 2921 parts 31,32 and 33 - Design and installation of vehicle charging installations or willing to gain the qualification upon employment
- EUSR Water and Hygiene Cards or willing to gain the qualification upon employment
- DBS Cleared
- Solar PV qualification
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience post apprenticeship holding Gold Card
- Experience in industrial, utility-scale and/or rooftop solar installation or solar O&M
- Experienced with solar servicing, maintenance, repairs and fault diagnosis
- String and Central inverter installation or maintenance experience
Core Principal Accountabilities (not limited to):
- Understand and work to all necessary documentation for construction phase, including programme, method statements, risk assessments, work instructions and procedures from project start to completion
- Work from plans and technical drawings to install Electrical installations across industrial and domestic settings including micro grid installations, Electric Vehicle installations (AC and DC) LV installations within secure sectors and plant rooms
- Identify and control on site, materials, plant and equipment, company owned or on hire
- Ensure high, safe, efficient working practices are maintained at all times
- Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment, ensuring conformance to all standards, building regulations and other specific Client electrical or safety regulations
- Inspect, test and commission electrical systems with the ability to identify any hazards or malfunctions. Diagnose faults taking the necessary action to rectify any findings
- Ensure activities do not cause unplanned disruption to operations of the electrical infrastructure, network, or other client systems
- Working remotely without supervision and completing reporting procedures
