We are working with our client, a dynamic architectural practice based in Central Manchester, who are seeking a BIM Manager to lead the development, coordination, and governance of BIM across the practice. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on exciting projects from early concept through to construction and handover, predominantly in the healthcare sector. Previous healthcare experience is not essential - strong BIM expertise and leadership are what matter most.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation and maintenance of practice-wide BIM standards, protocols, and workflows.
- Own and update BIM Execution Plan (BEP) templates, model standards, and information delivery procedures.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 19650 and client/project information requirements.
- Act as the primary BIM point of contact for the practice.
- Set up and manage BIM on projects from RIBA Stage 0-7.
- Coordinate architectural models internally and across disciplines.
- Manage federated models and oversee clash detection workflows where required.
- Support project teams to meet programme, quality, and information delivery milestones.
Software & Systems Expertise:
- Lead and develop use of BIM software (e.g., Revit, Navisworks, ACC/BIM 360 or similar).
- Advise on model structuring, parametric families, shared parameters, and data integrity.
- Support digital workflows including coordination, issue tracking, and model-based reviews.
- Identify and implement new tools or efficiencies where appropriate.
Skills & Experience:
- Strong experience as a BIM Manager or BIM Coordinator, ideally in an architectural practice.
- Solid understanding of ISO 19650, BEPs, MIDPs, and information management principles.
- Experience with COBie, clash detection, and multi-disciplinary model coordination.
- Familiarity with CDE platforms.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with designers, technologists, and consultants.
