My client, a leading provider of metering services within the UK energy retail sector, requires a Meter Reader in the Basingstoke area. You will be part of a dedicated Metering team responsible for installing, maintaining, and managing gas, electricity, and water meters. The role ensures customers are billed accurately and energy usage patterns are monitored effectively.
The position involves working outdoors, often walking several miles daily, and requires a self-motivated and energetic individual who can manage appointments and work independently. You will use handheld devices to plan routes and record meter readings, providing excellent customer service while working efficiently and safely in all weather conditions.
The role requires adherence to strict screening and vetting standards, including providing a five-year employment history and passing a DBS check. A full UK driving licence is essential. This is an ongoing contract paid at £12.60 per hour via PAYE.
