Anderselite are currently working with a client (within their Design/Water division) and they are seeking both EICA Design Engineers and Senior EICA Design Engineers.
Role Purpose
As part of the Design Team, the EICA Design Engineers and Senior EICA Design Engineers will be responsible for the design, development, and delivery of Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, and Automation systems for water and wastewater treatment projects for various clients. This role involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure that all EICA elements are integrated effectively into project designs, meet regulatory requirements, and adhere to industry best practices. The Senior EICA Engineer will manage the design process from concept through to detailed design, supporting project delivery and ensuring systems operate efficiently, safely, and within budget.
Role Summary
- Lead the EICA design process for water and wastewater treatment projects, ensuring integration with civil, mechanical, and process design elements.
- Develop and produce high-quality electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation designs, including SLDs, BCDs, Load Schedules, Systems Architecture, Cable Calculations, I/O schedules, and Electrical Install, MCC & SI Datasheets/Specifications.
- Ensure that designs are compliant with technical standards, industry regulations, and safety codes, with a focus on electrical safety and automation security.
- Manage the development of control strategies for water treatment processes, ensuring proper functionality of instrumentation and control systems.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure that EICA designs are aligned with overall project objectives and integrate effectively with other engineering disciplines.
- Conduct technical reviews of EICA designs and drawings, ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance with project specifications and client requirements.
- Provide technical expertise during construction, commissioning, and handover stages, ensuring that EICA systems are installed, tested, and operated according to design specifications.
- Develop functional specifications and technical documentation for electrical and control systems.
- Assist with tender evaluations and selection of vendors for electrical and control equipment.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure designs meet project and regulatory requirements.
- Stay up to date with technological advancements and industry best practices in EICA design and water treatment automation systems.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior EICA engineers and other team members.

- Thorough understanding of relevant regulations, safety standards, and industry codes, particularly related to electrical systems and automation.
- Experience in working through the full project lifecycle, including concept, detailed design, construction, and commissioning.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards it.
- Strong knowledge of electrical safety standards, control systems, and instrumentation in the water industry.
- Proficiency in using electrical design software and tools, as well as SCADA, PLCs, and other automation systems.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Electrical, Control, or Automation Engineering.
- Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modelling) and other advanced digital design tools.
- Experience in sustainable design principles, including energy-efficient electrical systems and automation solutions.
