We are currently recruiting for a very exciting opportunity to join our client, a leading construction company as a Contracts Manager working within their Buildings and Minor Works Division. Within this role you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of various railway assets within the portfolio. Join a busy environment dedicated to rail maintenance and asset management that handles ‘high volume, low value’ maintenance projects—both reactive and planned. The business unit’s primary focus is on maintaining and repairing rail assets under a long-term framework/contract agreement. Key Responsibilities: Operational Management: Oversee the Eastern buildings Asset Management Framework for Network Rail, ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards. Client Liaison: Maintain key relationships with client representatives and attend regular framework progress, design coordination, and commercial meetings. Programme and Commercial Planning: Ensure successful execution of the framework, maintaining quality, schedule, budget, and profit margins, while ensuring client satisfaction from project commencement to close-out. Project Controls: Monitor project performance against budgets, handle scope change identification, and ensure timely change orders and early warning notifications. Reporting and Analysis: Produce and analyse progress reports, updated cost forecasts, and lead monthly review meetings with project teams. Risk Management: Implement a comprehensive risk management process to pre-emptively identify and mitigate potential risks. Safety Management: Be accountable for all safety, health, environment, and quality matters within the framework. Requirements: Experience: Proven track record in a Framework/Contracts Management position within buildings, civil engineering, rail infrastructure maintenance sectors. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of contracting processes, technical construction specifications, and budget management. Relationship Building: Ability to establish strong working relationships with diverse stakeholders. Educational Background: Relevant qualifications in buildings/civil engineering. Industry Experience: Essential experience within buildings maintenance frameworks with a solid understanding of NEC or bespoke Network Rail forms of contract
