We are seeking an experienced Roaming Contracts Manager to oversee the delivery of construction projects within the public sector. There will be work that includes working from home and visiting sites which will be coverage from Newcastle to Northampton. This role involves managing multiple contracts across sectors such as education, healthcare, local authority, and government-funded developments, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with all contractual and regulatory requirements. Value of projects will be £0.5 to £5 million. Main projects will be refurbishments within a live environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and administer construction contracts from pre-construction through to final account
- Oversee multiple public sector projects, ensuring performance, quality, and compliance standards are met
- Lead contract negotiations, risk management, and dispute resolution processes
- Monitor project progress, costs, and contractual obligations, implementing corrective actions where necessary
- Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to maintain strong working relationships
- Overseeing site-based project teams.
- Ensure compliance with public procurement regulations and frameworks
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of public sector projects and procurement processes
- Extensive experience with standard forms of contract
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
- NVQ Level 7 in construction management or construction related degree.
