The Site Survey Manager will be responsible for assessing a wide range of Yorkshire Water infrastructure sites, including Combined Sewer Overflows (CSOs) and Boreholes, to determine the scope of required works. This role involves assisting with planning and executing detailed site surveys, specifying and coordinating remedial or upgrade works, appointing subcontractors, and managing their performance and progress throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed site surveys across Yorkshire Water's infrastructure network including CSOs, pumping stations, boreholes, and associated assets.
  • Identify, document, and prioritise the scope of works required at each site to ensure compliance with regulatory, environmental, and client standards.
  • Review site conditions, access constraints, existing infrastructure, and safety risks to inform work planning.
  • Produce detailed survey reports with clear recommendations, photos, and measured data.
  • Source, appoint, and onboard appropriate subcontractors to complete identified works, ensuring they meet project standards and safety requirements.
  • Coordinate all subcontractor activities on site, ensuring progress aligns with programme milestones.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance, quality, safety, and compliance, intervening and escalating where necessary.
  • Facilitate site inductions, RAMS briefings, and permits for subcontractors.
  • Act as the primary site contact during works, liaising with Yorkshire Water stakeholders, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with the agreed scope, programme, and budget.
  • Maintain up-to-date site records, including daily diaries, progress reports, photos, and HSE documentation.
  • Identify and resolve any on-site issues or delays to maintain momentum and avoid programme slippage.
  • Lead by example in maintaining a strong health and safety culture on all project sites.
  • Ensure compliance with client and company safety procedures, including safe systems of work, risk assessments, and environmental controls.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure safe working practices are being followed.

Communication & Reporting

  • Provide regular updates to the Project Manager and relevant stakeholders, highlighting progress, risks, and key milestones.
  • Attend and contribute to planning and coordination meetings.
  • Ensure all works are signed off in accordance with client quality requirements and that any follow-up actions are captured and completed.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in site survey and project management in the water or utilities sector.
  • Strong knowledge of CSO and borehole construction/maintenance or similar infrastructure.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and site-based delivery teams.
  • Sound understanding of HSE regulations, method statements, and risk assessments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project documentation tools (e.g. SharePoint, field data capture apps).
  • CSCS Card (minimum requirement).
  • SMSTS or SSSTS (preferred).
  • Confined Space, EUSR Water Hygiene, and First Aid qualifications (advantageous).
  • Full UK driving licence.
