Summary I am seeking a skilled Estimator with a strong background in civils, ideally with experience in both civils and earthworks, to join my clients team based in Bury. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for heavy civils projects, with a particular focus on water sector works aligned with AMP 8 projects.
This role requires a detailed understanding of civil engineering construction methods, quantity take-offs, and subcontractor engagement to support tender submissions and project delivery. The Estimator will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and suppliers to ensure bids are comprehensive, commercially viable, and aligned with client requirements. This is a permanent position offering the opportunity to work on significant infrastructure projects within the water and heavy civils sectors.
Key Responsibilities β’ Review and analyse tender documents and specifications to prepare detailed quantity take-offs. β’ Prepare and issue subcontract and material enquiries, evaluate quotations, and benchmark costs. β’ Collaborate with bid teams to define project scope, resources, and delivery strategies. β’ Support post-tender clarifications and assist in transitioning successful bids to the commercial team. β’ Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing. β’ Monitor market trends and material costs relevant to civils and earthworks projects.
