Working with a leading construction contractor I am currently recruiting for someone with a background in construction to work as a Community & Communications Coordinatorfor a major construction project in Bridgwater.

As a Community & Communications Coordinator you will work closely alongside the Community Engagement Manager to build positive relationships within the local community and with key project stakeholders. This role would be ideal for someone with experience of working in an operational role within construction who is happy to step away from delivery but be heavilyinvolved in stakeholder liaision and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • To be the main point of contact for enquiries and complaints coming into the project relating to construction activities
  • Provide a regularly updated forward programme of construction activities on site, e.g. working hours, major milestones, unusual deliveries and communicate this to the client and then in turn to the local community
  • Support the client team in maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and residents through personal visits and direct engagement
  • Attend public meetings, exhibitions, and events – including parish council meetings, local community meetings and others as agreed with the client
  • Collaborate with other partners on thesite to share and receive updates on construction issues and concerns
  • Participate in STEM and educational events in the local area.
  • Support local charity and corporate social responsibility initiatives.

Your profile

  • You must have a background working in construction and major projects
  • Experience of engaging directly with the public and project stakeholders
  • Ideally have some previous public relations experience
