Who We Are

FTI Consulting is the leading global expert firm for organizations facing crisis and transformation. We work with many of the world’s top multinational corporations, law firms, banks and private equity firms on their most important issues to deliver impact that makes a difference. From resolving disputes, navigating crises, managing risk and optimizing performance, our teams respond rapidly to dynamic and complex situations.

At FTI Consulting, you’ll work side-by-side with leaders who have shaped history, helping solve the biggest challenges making headlines today. From day one, you’ll be an integral part of a focused team where you can make a real impact. You’ll be surrounded by an open, collaborative culture that embraces diversity, recognition, professional development and, most importantly, you. Are you ready to make your impact?

About The Role

We are looking for a talented and ambitious Consultant to join our TMT team in London. We work with some of the largest and best-known companies in the world, and with the ambitious start-ups aiming to become tomorrow's giants. That mix gives you a broad view of work: helping shape corporate reputation for household names and supporting a fast-scaling business to find its voice.

You'll work at the forefront of some of the biggest shifts in business, technology and society. As a Consultant, you'll sit alongside the account team on day-to-day delivery: media relations, research, reporting, writing, and supporting both corporate and financial communications work. Most of our juniors get to do both, so you'll build a rounded foundation in your career.

We're after people who are curious, creative and collaborative, with a strong work ethic, great writing skills and a real appetite for the media. If you like solving problems, learning quickly and helping clients navigate a complex world, you'll fit in well here.

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver great client work. You'll work alongside the account team on day-to-day delivery: media relations, monitoring and reporting, research that informs client strategy, and drafting content from press releases and media statements to the early drafts of thought leadership. You'll take real ownership of your own work in a fast-moving environment.
  • Work across corporate and financial comms. Most of our junior colleagues do both. One week you might be helping build a corporate reputation campaign or a media list; the next you could be supporting a client through results, tracking coverage around an announcement, or pulling together research for an investor audience. You'll learn both sides of the practice.
  • Build media relationships. You'll help generate supportive coverage, start building your own network of journalist contacts across trade, tech, business and national outlets, and spot the moments where a client can join the conversation.
  • Use AI and digital tools well. You'll learn and use our approved AI tools, working with our digital experts to sharpen research, drafting and analysis. Just as important, you'll build your own understanding of where these tools help and where human judgement still has to lead.
  • Contribute to the team and to new business. You'll keep the team informed, share what you learn, ask good questions, and pitch in wherever the work needs it. You'll also get involved in new business, supporting pitches and the research behind them.

What You Will Need to Succeed

Basic Qualifications

  • 1 to 3 years' experience in a PR or communications agency, or in an in-house communications role.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Strong writing ability: you can turn research and ideas into clear, sharp content, from press releases and media statements to first drafts of longer thought leadership.
  • Solid research skills, both quantitative and qualitative, and the curiosity to get under the skin of a sector.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to stay organised.
  • A real interest in the media, and the appetite to build a network of journalist contacts.
  • The ability to juggle priorities across several clients and deliver to deadline in a fast-moving environment.
  • Sound judgement and discretion when handling confidential information, and a collaborative approach to working in a team.
  • Proficient skills in Word, PowerPoint, Excel and CoPilot / Chat GPT.
  • Great interpersonal skills and a desire to build positive connections with a variety of individuals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in, and a passion for, the technology, media and telecoms sector.
  • Foundational knowledge of corporate communications, including building core materials such as press releases, media statements, pitches and media lists.
  • Early experience of media engagement and building relationships with reporters.
  • Some exposure to financial communications or investor relations.
  • Creative flair: a knack for spotting a fresh angle and making an idea land.
  • Familiarity with AI and digital tools in a communications setting, and a real interest in using them well.

How You'll Grow

Alongside opportunities to learn on the job from some of the leading professionals in the industry, FTI Consulting offers extensive internal and external training opportunities. Direct access to leadership with defined long-term career planning will ensure you continue to develop your skills as a communications practitioner. As part of a team culture defined by engagement and continuous support, you will have the chance to develop meaningful mentor relationships with the potential to serve you both personally and professionally throughout your career.
