Assistant Manager Front Office (Duty Manager)

Joining Andaz London Liverpool Street means becoming part of a five‑star lifestyle hotel located in the heart of vibrant East London.

The hotel features 267 guestrooms and suites along with distinctive food and beverage experiences, including a brasserie, café bar, wine lounge, gastropub and Japanese restaurant, creating a diverse and fast‑paced environment for colleagues.

Responsibilities
- Take lead on the day’s complaints and liaise with the team regarding recovery and compensation.
- Responsible for all Front Office functions during the shift.
- Supervise and train supervisors, hosts, Guest Services Agents and door hosts.
- Ensure all daily tasks are completed and provide assistance if needed.
- Maintain credit limits, open folios and close them as required.
- Review arrival lists and ensure allocations match guest preferences, length of stay, and notes.
- Prepare group arrivals, allocating rooms according to the group agenda.
- Collaborate with Managers to optimise departmental goals such as Customer Service, Upsell and Enrollments.
- Work closely with the Assistant Front Office Manager and Guest Relations Manager to deliver high guest expectations and maintain five‑star service consistently.
- Perform on‑the‑job training and provide feedback when necessary.
- Assist the Assistant Front Office Manager in team development and conduct regular catch‑up sessions, such as buddy chats, to improve performance and IDPs.
- Lead during safety and health situations such as fire evacuations, drills, or other procedures.
- Prepare and follow an action plan for the month to achieve KPIs.
About You
You have previous experience in a front‑office role within the premium or upscale hotel segment, with exposure to supervisory responsibilities preferred.
You possess excellent communication and organisational skills and a proactive, guest‑focused approach to service delivery.
You are confident in leading and supporting a team in a fast‑paced environment, ensuring smooth daily operations and high service standards.
Your ability to handle guest concerns professionally, coordinate with multiple departments, and maintain attention to detail makes you a strong asset to the front‑office leadership team.
