What you will do as a Floor Porter:
- Be punctual for duties, dressed in accordance with the hotel grooming standard, observing at all times the highest care and attention.
- Follow all key and device signing procedures and take responsibility for assigned keys.
- Be responsible for the daily task list and ensuring all rooms/tasks are completed at the end of the shift.
- Read and sign the housekeeping handover book noting any special requirements for the day ahead.
- Ensure that the guest is always addressed by their correct name/title.
- Count, split linen evenly to all cupboards on the bedroom floors and Health Club.
- Remove all soiled and marked bed linen from all linen cupboards and place them safely down the linen chute, following the established procedure.
- Receive and store all Housekeeping supplies according to stock levels and established policies and procedures.
- Ensure all storage cupboards on the guest floors are properly stocked and are kept neat and tidy at all times.
- Be responsible for the cleaning, maintaining and vacuuming of staircases, corridors, storage areas and all other associated areas, ensuring all food trays, trolleys, dead flowers and rotten fruit are removed from the area and put in the service lift, keeping the corridors free from debris at all times.
- Be responsible for removing all empty bottles and rubbish from all lift areas.
- Spot all carpets for stains and marks in all guest areas and bedrooms as requested.
- Twin or double a room as required by the Housekeeping Management.
- Assist the Room Attendants and Housekeeping Management Team in the changing of valances and soft furnishings as directed.
