We’re looking for an exceptional Risk and Assurance Manager to help shape a confident, forward‑thinking approach to risk, data protection and assurance. You’ll play a vital role in smart decision making, protecting what matters most and building a secure future for our customers. We believe work is something you do, not somewhere you go, so if you want to work for a company that is truly flexible and where you are valued, this could be the role for you.

What we’re all about: We’re not your typical housing provider. With around 20,000 homes (and more in the pipeline), we’re on track to build 8,000 new homes across Yorkshire. We’re dedicated to creating exceptional customer experiences and building a culture that prioritises excellence, innovation and customer obsession.

What you’ll be doing: This is a brilliant opportunity to join us at an important point in our journey, with real ambition to take our Data Protection, Risk and Assurance function to the next level. You’ll be a trusted voice across the organisation – bringing clarity to how we manage risk, supporting confident decision‑making and helping colleagues do the right thing, not the easy thing. You’ll lead the risk and data protection capability across Yorkshire Housing, influencing stakeholders, strengthening relationships and providing practical, risk‑based guidance that helps the business move forward. You’ll also lead and develop a fantastic team, coaching and motivating them to grow their impact and work collaboratively across the organisation.

Day‑to‑day, you’ll lead our data protection, risk and assurance work – ensuring compliance while keeping things practical and fit for purpose. From owning our risk and controls framework, data protection and business continuity processes, to overseeing internal audit, you’ll help keep Yorkshire Housing safe, resilient and forward‑thinking. You’ll also be a key partner to senior leaders and the Board, providing clear insight and assurance so we can keep learning, improving and focusing on what matters most to our customers.

This is an agile homeworking role. You’ll sometimes join us in our Leeds workspace for team catch‑ups, collaboration and face‑to‑face time, and other times you may work from home. You’ll need to travel to Leeds easily and have plenty of notice to plan.

Who are we looking for?

  • Strong experience across data protection, risk and assurance, with the confidence to guide and support the business
  • Experience leading and developing a team, bringing people together and helping them thrive
  • Someone who is great at building relationships and influencing others across all levels
  • Ability to bring complex topics to life, whether that’s with the Board, senior leaders or colleagues
  • Someone who is genuinely customer‑obsessed, always thinking about how to improve what we do
  • A clear, down‑to‑earth communicator who’s organised, approachable and gets things done
  • The ability to juggle priorities and keep things on track, without losing sight of the detail

What’s in it for you: Salary: £54,700 per annum (35 hours/week) 26 days annual leave (rising to 31 annually) + Bank Holidays Permanent Contract. We offer a reward package to suit everyone. You can claim back for prescriptions, eye tests and more with our cash plan, make the most of a variety of retail discounts and take advantage of our pension scheme where we’ll match your contributions up to 9%. Our people’s health and wellbeing are a top priority, and you can benefit from a wellbeing support package, including a library of free fitness classes, instant My GP service and free counselling sessions with a trained professional.

Additional information: Closing date: Sunday 5th July 2026 (we may close early if we get lots of great candidates!) Interviews: 16th/17th July 2026 (in Leeds) If you’re applying for this role internally, you must inform your current line manager.
