Independent Committee Member (Audit & Risk) in Leeds

Overview

We’re looking for a customer-focused and strategically minded professional to join us as our new Independent Audit and Risk Committee Member. This is a great opportunity to help us deliver our Business Strategy, strengthen our approach to assurance, and support our journey to being the UK’s best housing provider.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with other Committee Members to provide effective oversight, challenge, and assurance to the Board.
• Help ensure our decisions support strong governance, manage risk well, and reflect customer insight, keeping customers and communities at the heart of what we do.
• Attend Committee meetings at least four times a year, mostly virtually, and one in-person strategy day.

Qualifications

• Background in the housing sector.
• Strategic experience in asset management or housing management.
• Sound judgement, curiosity, confidence to provide constructive challenge, and a strong focus on customer inclusion and customer experience.
• Understanding of the legal and regulatory environment affecting housing providers.

Benefits

This role offers a time commitment of 1 day per month, with a salary of £5,000 per annum.
