AND THE NEW is an award-winning social-first strategic marketing agency working with leading sports, culture and entertainment brands. We help ambitious rights-holders, teams, leagues, and brands grow through platform-native content, sharp creative and intelligent distribution.
This isn’t a role for someone who adapts print assets for Instagram. It’s for a designer who starts with the platform, understands what stops the scroll, and knows how to build creative that earns attention every single day, and at big moments when it counts most.
THE ROLE: As a Graphic Designer, you'll be a core creative force within the agency producing work that spans brand identity, social content, launch campaigns and everything in between. You'll work across multiple clients at any one time, so you'll need to switch contexts quickly, maintain a high creative standard and understand how to design for platforms not just for aesthetics. This role sits at the heart of how we show up creatively.
If you're the kind of designer who obsesses over why a thumbnail gets clicked, who gets excited by a season launch brief, and who wants to build brands that actually land on social then this is the role.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
- Designing scroll-stopping social content for Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, TikTok and beyond.
- Creating YouTube thumbnails that drive clicks with an understanding in composition, contrast, hierarchy and platform behaviour.
- Leading or contributing to brand builds and refreshes including for new sports championships, leagues, products and campaign identities.
- Delivering creative for major launch moments: season launches, kit reveals, signings, partnerships and campaign debuts.
- Producing ongoing social engagement content that keeps brand presence sharp and consistent between big moments.
- Collaborating with strategists and account teams to translate briefs into platform-native creative concepts.
- Iterating quickly based on performance data, client feedback and editorial instinct.
- Occasionally contributing motion design work such as animations, transitions, and reels-ready assets alongside static output.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
Essential
- A strong portfolio with clear evidence of social-first design with work made specifically to perform on platform.
- Solid experience designing for Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and other major social platforms.
- Understanding of what drives attention, clicks and engagement with an ability to explain your creative decisions in terms of platform behaviour, not just aesthetics.
- Experience working on brand identity or visual system projects, building or refreshing visual worlds, not just executing inside existing ones.
- Ability to manage multiple briefs and move at pace without dropping quality.
- A sharp eye for detail, typography, composition and visual hierarchy.
- Clear, direct communication. You can present and defend creative decisions concisely.
Desirable
- Motion design capability: After Effects, Premiere Pro, or equivalent even if it's not your primary discipline.
- Experience in sport, entertainment, culture or any fan-led environment.
- Familiarity with social performance metrics and how they inform creative iteration.
- Agency or multi-client experience.
WHAT GREAT LOOKS LIKE:
In this role, a strong performer will:
- Produce creative that genuinely earns attention on platform not just creative that looks polished.
- Understand brand consistency without being rigid knowing when to evolve, when to hold the line.
- Deliver at pace proactively.
- Come to creative reviews with ideas and rationale.
- Spot a weak thumbnail, a missed hook or an off-brand moment before it goes live.
- Get better with every brief using performance data and feedback as fuel, not just noise.
YOU’LL THRIVE HERE IF:
You're someone who:
- Lives on social platforms not just as a user, but as a student of what works and why.
- Gets genuinely excited by big sport and culture moments, and wants their creative to be part of them.
- Can take feedback well and turn it into better output fast.
- Is proactive. You spot opportunities, flag problems early and push creative quality forward without being asked.
- Wants to grow quickly in a high-standard, hands-on environment.
BENEFITS AND SALARY:
Salary range £28,000 – £33,000 (dependant on experience).
Company commission scheme.
Hybrid working (2 days/week in London office).
25 days paid holiday + bank holidays + Christmas shutdown.
Birthday day off.
£500 annual training budget.
Pension scheme.
Opportunity to grow fast in a creatively ambitious and collaborative team who are working at the forefront of brands in sports, entertainment and culture.
We actively welcome applicants from all backgrounds, experiences, and industries. At AND THE NEW, we believe great ideas are born from difference and we’re building a team that reflects that.
