We are recruiting for a Contract Lead Azure Platform Engineer (Contract).
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Remote, but you must be able to travel to Manchester for some face-time.

We're looking for an experienced Azure Platform Architect to join a high-profile AI & Data programme, reporting directly to the Solution Director (AI & Data). This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping and delivering an enterprise-scale Azure platform from the ground up.
You'll take ownership of designing and evolving a greenfield Azure environment, ensuring it integrates seamlessly with existing on-premise legacy infrastructure while enabling future AI and data capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement enterprise-grade Azure landing zones for a greenfield environment.
- Lead the discovery, design and iterative development of the Azure platform.
- Build secure, scalable and resilient cloud architectures aligned with enterprise best practice.
- Integrate Azure services with existing on-premise legacy estates.
- Work closely with the Solution Director (AI & Data) and wider stakeholders to define the platform roadmap.
- Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance throughout the engagement.
- Support the adoption of Microsoft Fabric and associated Azure services where appropriate.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Extensive experience architecting enterprise-scale solutions on Microsoft Azure.
- Proven expertise designing and implementing Azure Landing Zones within complex enterprise environments.
- Strong experience integrating Azure with on-premise infrastructure and legacy systems.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and its associated Azure services.
- Experience delivering greenfield cloud platforms from discovery through to implementation.
- Ability to develop cloud platforms iteratively, balancing immediate business needs with long-term scalability.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
